ISS & Atlantis Sighting
Just saw the International Space Station and a disembarking Space Shuttle Atlantis zoom by at over 18,000 mph for about 30 seconds. If you want to catch it the next time it flies over your area, use Nasa’s Skywatch applet.

Every day seems like a new journey on the web, new roads of information being paved by the millisecond. If you stop for a day, it’s like you have fallen behind a million miles. Information seems like a drug, we just want more and more, making clicking our favorite pastime.
Let’s see where my daily browsing has taken me today. First a little self promotion; my newest blog, Ormmakal is slowly taking shape, and it got listed on CSSMania today. On Counterjumper, Blogindex has hit 200 blogs. For the number of blogs out there, blogindex seems like an infant list, but you might still find something you like on there, so check it out.

A visual guide to where 2008 US federal tax dollars will go. $717 billion (change +11%) for defense, astounding! Imagine if a portion of that could go towards the environment(7.2b, change -4%), poverty, health care(~67b, change 0%), education(~55b, change 0%), and other social and environmental issues which faces both US and the World!
Well, that’s how long the over hyped Indian team will have to wait for a stab at the Cricket World Cup. Even though the men in blue were a disappointment, some of the commentary on BBC from the match against Sri Lanka was just hilarious. From the one towards the beginning of India’s innings
to the gems taking a jab at India’s fast approaching train wreck
Maybe the fat lady can start warming up her vocal chords
I am a little late on this commentary, but now that it’s over, and the Indian team has manged to safely sneak back into India, let’s take a look at more exciting cricket and the amazing Malinga. His late in the game, four wickets in four balls haul against South Africa was a first in International Cricket, and a great showcase of the excitement cricket can create.
As for the Indian cricket fans, I wonder how many will start voting for Sanjaya Malakar, to fill that great void created by India’s early exit from the World Cup.
Moving away from Cricket, JibJab has a new video out, mocking the ludicrous state of US News Media. Not as tickling as some of their prior videos, never the less it’s spot on, as far as making a point goes.
If you have ever thought of stealing a logo from a designer before, here are 426 reasons why you should not or another way you can use flickr for something else other than photographs
Finally, I leave you with the magic hat light effect Photoshop tutorial from creativebits.
It’s past midnight, and you should have seen me frantically hitting the refresh button to see Tendulkar make his 100 in 78 balls, with 10 fours and a six, on the last ball. It should be interesting to see how the West Indies bat against a target of 341 set by India. From the God of Cricket to the God of Tennis, I was hoping for a clash of epic proportions at the Australian Open Men’s final, but Roger Federer was just spectacular and probably unstoppable at this point. It brought back memories from childhood, of watching another tennis great, Björn Borg play. (more…)
